Re-emerging of Shadow self



Shadow self is coming up for me again the past couple days. I feel myself being caught by my shadow self quite often. Not so much in a negative way but in a playful positive one.

.

You see once you’re familiar with your shadow self it can become a rather playful act of ‘what is it you have to tell me’ or what is it you’d like me to see’.

.

I often experience my shadow self and that of others arising when we move through unknown territory, out of our comfort zone and into the new.

.

This is because if we’ve never experienced a situation that we currently find ourselves in, we tend to go back into our memory bank to access old survival patterns which we used for previous situations. Often these are not suitable for the current situation & therefore we often act out inappropriately as the current task in hand & our behavior towards it doesn’t match.

.

Or if you’ve worked on shadow self before (working on old programming & releasing of outdated patterns) then it’s often just a gentle reminder, nudging you forward, giving you permission to let go of the fear & contraction of self in order for you to move towards the love & the expansion of self rather.


Making use of the magical qualities of the Obsidian Crystal for shadow work could assist you with this process. Remember our nervous system is made up of the parasympathetic & sympathetic nervous system.

The parasympathetic ns is responsible for our rest & digest response & the sympathetic ns for our fight & flight response.

.

Hereby assisting the sympathetic ns in order to move out of a constant fight or flight response mode which most of us find ourselves in when it comes to tricky or unknown territories. Examples of these are starting a new relationship, new job, moving to a new city or even new country. Sometimes it can even be as small as needing to make a change to your daily routine or sometimes it can be due to a life changing drastic health reason too.

Often experiences that we have not dealt with properly yet, are pushed away into dark corners or little boxes which we call our shadow self.

.

Our experiences are what made us who we are now, so rather than ignoring them we acknowledge them, accept them, make peace with them and therefore allow ourselves to move on from them.

.

In so doing, we let go of the old, to make space for the new.

.

This is a constant process, as we evolve, we come across new experiences. Treading into areas we haven’t been in before, dealing with situations we haven’t had to deal with or situations that we haven’t had the chance to deal with in a way That works for us.

.

The easier we can deal with new experiences the easier we can transition through them. By bringing forwards the lessons from the past in order for us to from there connect to the present moment. What is the present moment trying to teach us, offer us and present to us? and from there we connect to inner self for guidance and wisdom. How can I react to this situation to make the very best out of it for me.

.

I find that we need to constantly remind ourselves that we are divine beings of highest vibration & that life happens for us.

.

so sometimes all we need to do is let go of the control and allow the flow to move through us. Allow yourselves to move forward from an inner desire, wisdom and guidance rather than an outer one. .

in the end we’re all striving to be the best version of ourselves. .

Isn’t that what we’re here to do?

If you feel stuck in any way, if you feel that life just keeps repeating itself in different ways but ultimately just stays the same then allow yourself to be open to change. Be open to work on yourself, be open to look into those drawers or shadow self to work through the cobwebs to release them to empty them out in order to make space for the new.

What better way to start a new astrological year off with, by clearing out the old, to make space for the new!
